The Third Person
"The Third Person" was conceived as the spiritual successor to Pain Body. Where that earlier work depicted a figure in collapse, this presents a body tentatively grounded yet incomplete, concealing itself behind a bouquet, timid. The figure leans against a fractured plinth, the column reduced from a symbol of permanence to a temporary prop. The work functions as a psychic self-portrait, the self always constructed in fragments, performed, questioned, and precariously propped up.
