Every Minute is Midnight
"Every Minute Is Midnight" adapts the Doomsday Clock, devised by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, into a statement on peril, brinkmanship, inevitability, and subjective dread. A sensor-driven mechanism adjusts the minute hand as the observer approaches and recedes, allowing proximity to set how near or distant catastrophe seems. As the concluding work in "Let's All Abandon Reality Together", it underscores an overarching truth. The world could end in an atomic instant. Even under that unbearable knowledge, we continue, choosing to live and make what we can among the ruins.
