Concentrate And Pick A Card
"Concentrate and Pick A Card" takes its title as a prompt to the viewer. Five Zener Cards, introduced in the 1930s for experiments in extrasensory perception, flicker and flash in reaction to one's position. The viewer is drawn into guessing, caught trying to read the "mind" of the computer. The work proposes a role reversal. Computer vision systems already track attention and behavior exhaustively; perhaps we should practice reading computer minds, in return.
