Drishti

"Drishti" (Sanskrit for 'gaze' or 'point of focus') is a stabilizing visual target cued in yoga and meditation. This work offers an illuminated drishti, a single LED point set against a shifting color field. Purple and yellow waves form a looping, trance-like pulse whose rhythm evades easy understanding. A purely optical lightbox, it draws on California Light and Space artists such as Robert Irwin and James Turrell, while updating that lineage through algorithmically generated light and programmable hardware.
